
Having joined Morse,Giesler,Callister & Karlin in May 2010, Tyrone Matthews brings a distinguished range of experience to the firm. Prior to attending law school, he served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps and was also a Drill Instructor at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, California. Tyrone’s areas of interest in the law include specialties in: subrogation litigation and recovery—property, workers’ compensation, automobile, health and insurance contribution, and deductible cases; and workers’ compensation defense litigation—Serious & Willful Misconduct and Labor Code § 132a claims. A sought after speaker on topics involving subrogation recovery, Tyrone has lectured on numerous occasions before the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (“NASP”) and serves on the Board of Directors of their Southern California chapter. Other memberships include Alpha Pi - Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, the Tri-City Hospital Foundation Board, Mira Costa Foundation Board, and El Corazon Oversight Committee. As a very active member of his community, Tyrone is currently Chair of the El Corazon Oversight Committee in Oceanside, which is tasked with the development of a 400-acre property within the city. Somehow, Tyrone also manages to find time for golf, technology, self-improvement, and the Yankees.
